Put it on the board for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eric Church[/lastfm]! This is his first ACM Award nomination and his first win! Yes that’s right. He actually received his award for Top New Solo Vocalist a few weeks back. Now he sits and waits to see if he wins big tonight with the Top New Artist. He says that he just leaves it in the hands of his fans.
Even though Eric is up for Top New Artist and won Top New Solo Vocalist, he has been at this for a while. He says that one of the biggest reasons it may have taken him a little more time to get here than some, is he hasn’t taken certain paths that other artists may have to get to where they are. With that, I asked him what he thought about how the ballots are done for the ACM Awards along with other Award shows.
There is always political things in everything out there. And I think that it’s in music , too. The great thing about the award, and for us, is that if it wasn’t fan voted, I wouldn’t win that award.”
